One of the goals of our leaders at church is to encourage children to be in church.  Those of you in our church know that I often work to speak directly to children when preaching.  And, there is no doubt that they follow a great deal of the sermon – – to their credit and not mine.

This article from John and Noel Piper gives some practical tips for parents about how they can help their children learn to sit in church.

As a child, it always made the sermon more personal when the pastor spoke to us.

One of the greatest parts about preaching for me is to look down at little faces in the first couple of rows. . . our church is very intimate and the first couple of rows are close, and we have families that sit right down front.

It is a real joy.

Thanks for sharing that. It encourages me all the more.
