“Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will hmself call out and not be answered (Proverbs 22:13).”
Our church family will appreciate watching this video update from Pastor Jeff Dodge. Let’s pray that God does a great work physically and spiritually in Africa.
And, for the record, even though he looks much younger than I, we’re the same age: Class of ‘81.
Those of you from our church will be encouraged to know that you can read more about the orphanage project that Jeff Dodge described in church Sunday here.
I think Jeff did a great job identifying the central challenge of the parable of the Good Samaritan: (my words) True-Christlike love takes action. We must move beyond head knowledge and cross the road and tend to the wounds of those who are hurting.
Again, for our church family - - will you help point others to this link?

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Galatians 2:10, ESV.
My family has spent more on Ipods in the last year than we have on Africa. How do you suppose that plays in Heaven?
Greg Koukl profoundly interacts with the question, “What about those who have never heard the Gospel?” I think his comments near the end of this short clip about “American fairness” are spot on.
One of my prayers for our church in the coming years is that we will become incresaingly missions minded. I dream that on the New Earth, I will meet new friends from the other side of the world, who became Christians becomes of the missions efforts of The Red Brick Church.
I am praying that our church will really focus on missions in 2008. Desiring God Ministries pointed me to a great web site.
